| Welcome and Introductions: Lazette called the meeting to order at 7:11 pm. Everyone introduced themselves. Financials: Mary reported there has been an increase in the insurance and Lazette volunteered to check on why. A payment of $900 has been made to PTL for the installation of the ties and the park maintenance. Beautification Committee: Dorothy reported that 24 homeowner (both members & non-members) took advantage of the driveway sealcoating. With regards to the park, Dorothy reported that the ties have been installed and anchored. The HOA was charged an extra fee for the spreading of mulch and limestone due to a miscommunication. A special thank you was also made to Derrick Burgess for getting the HOA a great deal on the stone and mulch. More stone may need to be obtained next year to reinforce the path the stone was initially purchased for. PTL took it upon themselves to spread the stone. Lazette mentioned the hardware on the swings needs to be tightened and the wood needs to be stained. The cost to tighten the hardware is quoted @ $95 and the cost to power wash & stain is quoted @ $1000. A vote was taken to authorize the tightening of the hardware. All were in favor. Christina mentioned that all tags have been distributed. If, by chance, someone has not received their tags they are to see Mary. Welcome Committee: Dorothy - No Update Activities Committee: Christina reported the fishing contest held 6/10/07 was a success. Aaron was the winner of the $10 gift certificate. Christina also reported that the exercise class was cancelled due to lack of interest from the community. The adventure trails activity was also cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The members voted to not due the activity this year due to all the activities in August. There have been no updates to the website. Men’s Club: Derrick mentioned holding a Head of Household meeting to address some concerns in the community. He and Derrick will get back to the HOA with a date and they also requested someone do the flier/letter for them. Old Business: Officer elections: 3 seats were up for election (VP, Treasurer & Alternate). · Debra Davis was nominated for alternate & accepted. · Benita Shaheed was nominated for alternate & accepted. · Carmen Sandoval was nominated & kindly declined. Beth moved to have 2 alternates, Derrick 2nd the moved, all were in favor. Debra and Benita are now the new alternates. Dorothy Thomas & Mary Brown remain the VP and treasurer respectively. Carmen Sandoval reported updates from the block party committee. She confirmed the entertainment and mentioned if anyone else would like to participate they could pay the $20 fee that night. Derrick announced the upcoming Miss Sauk Village pageant. He also mentioned Juanita will be one of the judges. Judging will be held 8/18 @ 10 am. The winners will be crowned at the corn and dog roast on 9/15. Sauk Village Idol will be held on 9/15 & 9/16. 1st prize is $500. New Business: Lazette spoke about the concerns from several of the residents in 1st phase regarding children in the streets, on their property & disrespectful behavior. She mentioned the officers have spoken to the neighbors who expressed disappointment with the situation and asked them to… 1. Talk to the children 2. Talk to the parents of the children 3. Call the police & file a formal complaint The HOA spoke to a sent a certified letter to the owner of the property. The letter included copies of the by- laws, covenants, park rules, summary of covenants, and several letters written by the residents of the community that wanted to voice their concerns. The owner was also invited to attend the meeting. Homeowners at the meeting were also encouraged to do the same if any issues occurred in their community. The purpose of the HOA was also reiterated. The purpose of the HOA is to enforce the covenants, maintain the park and instill a sense of pride and unity in our community. Juanita reported someone tried to steal a car from her driveway.
